Never Quite What You Expect

That's life. It never really is quite the way you think it will be, but then, what is?

Take the trids, for example. Twenty-four hour coverage of the lifestyles of the rich and corporate. Or, for the reality deprived, tune in to the plastic, sugically enhanced anchors reporting on violence in the streets. Johnny on the spot reporters straight from the crime scene with the latest footage, stepping over the bodies of the latest victims in the corporate-sponsored fan-hitting drek. Never a single broadcast of the real hows and whys. Constantly potraying the the heroes as criminals and the bad guys as upstanding pillars of the community. And somewhere, out there, are people who actually believe what they're told.
